AFTERNOON ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attention all girls interested in learning more about vocations: The Congregation of St. Cecilia will host "Vocation Nights" every 1st Sunday of the month beginning this Sunday, Sept. 6 at their convent. They will not offer a vocation night on the
1st Sunday of October. The sisters invite you for "prayers & pizza"---prayers are at 5 p.m. Those interested should arrive between 4:30-4:45. The evening will end around 7:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Sr. Mary Magdalene at 561-8020, Ext. 1153 or at smmagdalene@stgertrudesch.org

All juniors should have received a peach paper with update Junior Retreat information! Please do not leave today without one of these. Extra copies are located on the table outside the Religious Ed Office.

All September Junior Retreat leaders need to see Mrs. Helms before leaving today.

There will be a JKB meeting Tuesday morning in room 206 at 7:15. All are expected to attend.

There will be an AMP meeting Wednesday at 7:15 in the gym. All are expected to attend.

Please remember to bring in items for the troops all week. Let’s show who the “Real Rams” are by bringing more donations than that other school down the street!

AFTERNOON ANNOUNCEMENTS

Any student in Mr. Mignery’s World History class for 5th Period / Section E, who did not get their homework sheet, can now pick one up in room 011.

A number of students have not turned in their registration papers, which were given out on schedule pick up day. Please turn them in to the office by tomorrow – Friday.

There will be a short meeting in the locker room today after school for anyone that is not playing a fall sport and is planning on playing boys basketball this year.

A reminder that tomorrow morning we will begin our pep assembly at 7 a.m. We would really like to have as many students in the gym by 7 --- so please try to be here. All students should report to the gym as soon as they arrive.

Tomorrow is a green & white day. Please refer to page 14 of your handbook for information. Students may wear jeans or long basketball length shorts with a Badin jersey or Badin t-shirt. If you do not wear Badin spirit wear, you must be in uniform.

Seniors: Applications for nominations to the U.S. Service Academies are now available. See Mr. Kenkel if interested. The deadline to submit all required materials is October 30.

  • There will be a liturgical music group meeting at 3:00 tomorrow after school in the chapel. If you cannot attend, please let Mr. Mears or B. Fritz know.
  • Today is the last day to register a team for CYO volleyball. Forms are in the office.
  • There will be a short meeting in the locker room on Thursday after school for anyone who is not playing a fall sport and is planing on playing boys' basketball this year.
  • Ambassador officers meet Thursday after school in the development office for 15 minutes. We need to make plans for freshman interviews so please plan to attend.
  • There is a student council meeting today in the library after school.
  • There will be an NHS meeting Thursday after school in room 225.
  • Students interested in rowing should attend a kickoff meeting at the Fitton Center on Thursday, Sept. 10th at 7 p.m. Contact head coach Emilie Graham at coach@greatmiamirowing.com for more information. Flyers are on the office counter.

  • In order to have a high school CYO volleyball league we need at least one more team to register. Forms are available in the office.

  • The Badin varsity golf team split its tri-match on Tuesday afternoon. In a match played at the Wyoming Country Club, the Rams defeated Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 187-199. They lost to a very nice Wyoming team 171-187. Sophomore A. Sandor led the Ram attack with a six over par 43 over the tough Wyoming Country Club course. With the split, the team now has an overall match record of 4-2 on the year. The Rams will play again on Wed. afternoon. They will host Loveland and Taylor in a tri-match to be held at Potter's Park at 4 p.m.

  • Congratulations to our girls' golf team who defeated GGCL rival Fenwick yesterday.

  • Practice for JV girls' tennis is at Riverside today at 4:45 p.m.
  • There is a Student Council meeting Wed. after school in the library.

  • Mr. Mignery's second period class will be in the library today. Mr. Mignery's third period class will report to 010 today and Mr. Mignery's fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth periods will report to 016.
  • From the guidance office: Purdue University will host senior females who are interested in majoring in engineering. See Mr. Kenkel this week if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity.
  • Seniors - Interested in pharmacy? Interested in Ohio Northern University? If so, see Mr. Kenkel this week. The deadline to apply and submit all necessary information is Nov. 1.
  • The list of mass participants and Eucharistic Minister sheets are on the door of the religious ed office. If you are participating, please be sure to check the list before the end of the day today.
  • All juniors are reminded that the sign-up sheets for the junior retreats are on the table outside the religious ed office. These sheets will only be out until the end of the day tomorrow. Please be sure to sign up for the retreat that best fits YOUR schedule.
  • The Badin varsity golf team raised its overall match record to 3-1 by nipping Roger Bacon 172-174 in a match played at the Mill Golf Course Monday afternoon. The Rams were led by senior J. Fetters who fired a six over par 42. Sophomores T. Saurber and A. Donges were one stroke behind with seven over par 43's. Junior T. Hammerle was the other scoring golfer for Badin with a 44. The team will play on Tuesday afternoon they travel to take on Wyoming in a 4 p.m. match.
  • Wednesday is a mass day. All students are to be in formal uniform. Refer to page 12 of the handbook if you have any questions.

AFTERNOON ANNOUNCEMENTS

All juniors are reminded that the Junior Retreat sign up sheets will be on the table outside the Religious Ed Office until the end of the day on Wednesday.

All seniors who are interested in leading any retreat this year must fill out a green form by the end of the day tomorrow.

Badin’s Boys’ Cross Country Team were runner-ups in the small school division Saturday at the Fairfield Invitational. Evan North led the Rams followed by Chris Getz, Noah Rich, Nick Ingram and Marty Sunderhaus.
