Afternoon Announcements

  • Attention girls's soccer: no practice today for varsity and reserve. Reminder - the bus leaves at 2:30 on Monday for Chaminade. Be prepared.
  • Boys soccer - practice today is canceled. Game tomorrow with Elder is canceled. Players check e-mail.
  • Girls' tennis is canceled today. The coach will contact you about tomorrow.
  • The October Kairos leader meeting is going to be NEXT Wed. after school in the religious ed. office. Please see Mrs. Helms if this is a problem.
  • All seniors leading the sophomore day of recollection are reminded that we are meeting this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at Camp Campbell Gard.
  • JKB and AMP students are reminded to fill out the paperwork for RASKALS. Please return it to Mrs. Marot as soon as possible.
  • Volunteers are needed for Camp Campbell Gard Pumpkin Fest. Call 867-0600.
  • There will be a float meeting for juniors and sophomores at M. Bange's house this Sunday at noon. Cookies will be served.
  • Attention all students - it's not too late to sign up for the Art Fair at Pyramid Hill. They still need your help this weekend. Sign up outside the religious ed office today. You'll earn three service hours and free admission to the park for you and your family.
  • Shantytown leaders - listen up! Please stop and see Mr. Hosmer in the chapel before you leave today. We will briefly meet to discuss some important details about next week's schedule. See you in the chapel Shantytown leaders!

AFTERNOON ANNOUNCEMENTS

Students, if you have not done so already, please turn in your textbook loan form to either your last period teacher or drop it off in the office today.

The girls’ tennis tournament is cancelled today and rescheduled for the same time tomorrow. Team members will be in class 8th period today.

The girls JV tennis match is cancelled today due to the weather. Also, there is no practice today.

Boys' soccer practice is changed to 7-8:30 at Game Time Training Center...call Coach if you need directions.

Varsity boys' golf match with Mariemont is cancelled for today.

Mr. DeAngelo's Business Law test for tomorrow has been rescheduled for Monday.

Students who purchased a ‘Volley for the Cure’ t-shirt this year will be permitted to wear the shirt on Friday with their regular school pants or skirts.

Pre-sale tickets will be available today and Friday during lunch in the cafeteria and after school in the office.

Volunteers are needed for Camp Campbell Gard’s Pumpkin Fest. If interested call 867-0600.

The art fair takes place this Saturday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. You will earn a minimum of 3 hours of service along with free admission to the park for you and your family. Interested? Stop by the Religious Ed Office and see Mr. Hosmer or talk to your religion teacher today.

Seniors: if you are looking for a smaller Catholic liberal arts university located in Ohio, you should consider Walsh University. This university offers 50 majors including physical therapy. Interest in math and/or science; interest in marketing and business --- simply complete the counselor request form. This presentation will be held in the Guidance office on Wednesday, September 30.

The Badin Rams Varsity Golf Team won on Senior Night Wednesday, as they defeated GCL foe McNicholas 171-185. Juniors T. Hammerle and C. Bradenburg led the way for the Rams with six over par 42's. Sophomore A.Donges was next with a 43. The Rams honored senior J. Fetters in post match festivities. With the win, Badin moved to 11-8 overall on the season. Next match for the Rams will be Thursday afternoon when they play Mariemont at Sharon Woods in a 4 p.m. tee time.

Any students interested in participating in the Walk for ALS should sign the list on the table outside the Religious Ed Office. The walk will take place on Sunday, October 4 at Winton Woods Park. All participants from Badin are asked to wear a Badin shirt. In order to receive 3 Christian Service
Hours for your participation you must collect at least $20 in pledges and walk in the event. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Helms or Mrs. Marot.

All seniors who are leading next week’s Sophomore Day of Recollection need to initial the list on the door to confirm their spots. You are also required to attend the leader-training meeting this Sunday from 6-7 p.m. at Camp Campbell Guard. The meeting will be at Badin if it is raining at 5 p.m. on Sunday night. Please pick up a purple form from the table.

There will be an October Kairos Leader Meeting next Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel. All October Kairos leaders are asked to be there. If you have a problem, please see Mrs. Helms.

Afternoon Announcements

  • All students are invited to our Thursday morning Eucharist/Communion service. The service will begin at 7:15 a.m.
  • Do not forget that tomorrow is picture day. Students are reminded to be in formal uniform. Bring your envelope to school with you. Extra envelopes are in the office.
  • Open field for softball is canceled for today.
  • Today is Senior Day for the Badin varsity golf team at Potter's Park. The Rams will host McNicholas and Reading in a tri-match at 4 p.m. Senior golfer Jake Fetters will play his final home match today for the Rams. He has been a member of the Badin golf team for three years. If you get a chance and can get out to the match today, please go out and follow Jake around the course for the final time. There will be a ceremony honoring Jake after today's match at Potters. Good luck to Jake and the ret of the golf team this afternoon.
  • There is a Student Council meeting today after school in the library.
  • We are missing a lot of the textbook loan forms that students filled out yesterday. If you have not turned in your completed form please do so today. Also, be sure you have signed it as well.
  • The History Club will meet in room 011 after school on Thursday.Tomorrow morning K. Currier will get you ready for Volley for the Cure. Look for her in front of the main office. For 25 cents she will put a pink ribbon on your thumb - "Thumbs up for the Cure".

  • The girls' varsity and jv soccer teams will be dismissed at 2:15 p.m. today for their match at McNicholas.
  • Pre-sale tickets for the away football game at Chaminade Julienne will be on sale in the office on Thursday and Friday.
  • On Wednesday, Sept. 30th a representative from Walsh University will be here to speak with interested seniors. Walsh University is a smaller liberal arts catholic institution located in North Canton, Ohio. It is small enough to feel "homey" yet large enough to house 50 majors. Walsh University has a strong marketing program and school of business. The nursing program is popular as is the department of math and science. Overseas study is possible as Walsh University also has a campus in Rome. Why not? This is a catholic university. This is a great opportunity to learn more about liberal arts colleges in general. Mr. Kenkel advises seniors to sign up for next week's presentation. Simply complete the "request to see counselor" form and state that you wish to see Walsh University.

Afternoon Announcements

  • There is an AMP meeting tomorrow morning at 7:15 a.m. in the gym. Please be on time.
  • Miami University is running ACT preparation classes in Sept. and November. You can pick up an information sheet in the guidance office. They are located near the guidance trays.
  • Thursday is picture day for the underclassmen. All underclassmen should have received their picture envelope in homeroom. Extra evnelopes are located in the office. Students are reminded to be in formal uniform on Thursday.
  • The History Club will meet after school on Thursday in room 011. All juniors and seniors are welcome to attend.
  • There will be a film club meeting on Thursday after school in room 010.
  • There will be a JSA meeting today after school in Mr. Mears's room. Anyone who wants to purchase a sweatshirt must attend.
  • Thursday evening is the annual Volley for the Cure girls' volleyball match - in recognition of breast cancer awareness - between Badin and Fenwick here at Mulcahey Gym. "Pray for the Cause" t-shirts are on sale at lunch for $6 all week. Students wearing the 2009 version of the shirt will be admitted free into Thursday night's contest. We encourage you to purchase the t-shirt and root for the Rams in what should be an exciting match. Proceeds from Thursday's event will go to the Maureen Fritsch Cancer Assistance Fund as well as the Susan G. Komen for the Cure fund. Thanks for "stepping up" as Badin students always do.

Morning Announcements

  • There will be a JKB meeting tomorrow morning at 7:15 a.m. in room 206.
  • Every Monday in Sept., eat at Chili's (dine-in or to-go) and Chili's will donate 10% of your check to the men's soccer team. Pick up a voucher in the office, or just tell your server about the Badin fundraiser and they will make sure 10% of your food and drink bill (excluding taxes) will be donated directly to the soccer team.
  • Anime Club meeting Tuesday 2:45-4:00 in Mr. Reamy's room - 005.
